    The Colour Grade

    This grade was a tale of two halves. The first: a gritty, action-packed thriller that needed a look to match. I iterated on a few versions with the DoP before we landed on something we both felt hit the brief — which, in their words, was simply “mud.” After a few tweaks, we got muddy

    The second half shifted into the world of the child: innocent, dreamy, ethereal, and playful. Despite all being shot digitally, I wanted it to feel like it came straight from a roll of 16mm film. Texture became the main focus, with colour gently shaped to evoke a warm, nostalgic tone
